Jim's post clearly says "2S lipo receiver packs" and that is how I understand it.
I have been using the Trinity/Epic Mini LiFE 6.6V 220mah Receiver Pack with the RS ESC in my WGT for 3 months now. No issues; except, I had to replace the Mickey Mouse on/off switch on it.
Leaves me with max power from 1S to the motor.
The running voltage of a 5-cell NiMh receiver pack will be about 6.5v (1.3v per cell) so I too assume Jim means LiPo, not LiFe. It's the voltage that's the problem, not the number of cells. Had no problems with my 5-cell NiMh pack...
