Important Race info update:

The Roadrunners RC Club has several goals for all of our events, large or small. One of them being that everybody has a good time and everybody gets some great racing in. I have said it 100 times before, we are a club, not a business, we are all volunteers, we are all racers doing this for the love of the hobby and for fellow racers in Southern California and beyond.

Another goal is trying to keep the cost of racing down while putting on large events. The club has review the cost associated with racers buying tires for a 2 day event. We concluded that if we teamed up with a tire company and incorporated a spec tire rule, this would help racers save some money as well as level out all the playing field in the Touring Car classes.

So, for this race Roadrunners RC Club has teamed up with Solaris tires as a spec tire for all TC and Mini Cooper classes.

Rookie Class:
Solaris/Roadrunner RC Club is sponsoring this class. Each Rookie driver will receive one free set of tires from Solaris. Each rookie driver will also receive a second set of free tires compliments of the Roadrunners RC Club. Both sets of tires will be handed out on the first day of qualifying. Both sets will be marked for tech, these will be the only tires allowed for qualifying and all mains. These drivers will also be able to buy practice sets as outlined below also.

Mini Cooper Class:
Roadrunner RC Club is sponsoring this class. Each Mini Cooper driver will receive one free set of tires. Each Mini driver will also have the option of buying a second set. The first set of tires will be handed out on the first day of qualifying. Drivers will have the option of buying a second set of race tires. Both sets will be marked for tech, these will be the only tires allowed for qualifying and all mains. These drivers will also be able to buy practice sets as outlined below also.

17.5, 13.5 and Modified Touring Car:
Drivers for these classes can buy 2 sets of tires on the first day of qualifying. Both sets will be marked for tech, these will be the only tires allowed for qualifying and lower mains. If a driver in one of these classes makes the “A” main either by qualifying or bumping up, the driver will have the option to buy one additional set for the “A” main. These drivers will also be able to buy practice sets as outlined below also.

Practice tires will be available to buy at track side on the remaining scheduled On Road race days leading up the event and during the scheduled event practice day prior to the event, Friday April 23rd. The remaining scheduled club races are as follows, March 14th, March 28th and April 11th. Practice sets are limited to (2) sets per racer per day and cannot be used on race day.

Practice sets sold on club race days will be on the current Solaris dish style rim. Practice sets sold on event practice day Friday April 23rd and race day sets will be the new style Solaris spoke rim.

Keep in mind that the club has subsidized the cost for club members only…just another benefit of being a club member. These prices are for this event only. Once the event is over the tires will be carried by our local hobby shop at regular manufacture suggested retail prices.

Club member = 20.00 per set
Non-club member = 25.00 per set
