I think the reason the Tekin wasn't really a factor until recently was more a matter of availability... there certainly seems to be nothing wrong with the specs and the software can work for any motor...

SP have been promising a software upgradable ESC since 1.1 and it still hasn't happened... I even have an email somewhere from SP support saying the USB box was on the way... that was nearly 3 years ago... so I won't be celebrating until I can hold one in my hands
