It all comes down to preference. I run all electric. some days i get my @ss handed to me by nitros, some days they end up in my dust playing catch up. Nitro is not a dying breed by any means. Electric is playing catch up(in popularity)
My track is trying to split nitro and electric, every is whining about the differences but there have never been any races won or lost that were 100% attributed to the car's power system
