Try to break the seal with a Hobby Knife around the outside maybe? Channel Locks usually work for me with a gentle rocking motion, even when I was over-zealous with RTV.
The High Temp RTV might just bond REALLY REALLY well though, and the heat gun probably won't get it hot enough. I normally use Ultra Copper without issues though. You are 100% sure the piston is up high enough?
