hey Monty
I rebuilt a friends buggy and he's got a p5 turbo plug engine. I put an odonnell 97t plug in it with 25 percent byrons. It starts fine, but anytime I give it throttle it dies. I am stumped. I never had a problem like that. It's tuned fairly well I don't think that's the problem. He had sealed the carb, shoult I take the carb off and reseal it just to be sure. The plug is fine but he had an os plug in it and could it have caused it to not seal properly even though the odonnell plug fits it better. I really don't like turbo plugs. Any advise would help. One thing Is I don't have these problems with engines, but I didn't break in or use this engine so I don't know what shape it's in other than it still has plenty of compression. It's probably something simple, but eludes me at the moment......When I rev it it just dies. It idles ok, but won't take fuel when reved.
