I have a TC3 with the rally kit (200 mm arms) and one with the stock 190 mm arms that I run in VTA. IMO the stock 190 width with the offset wheels is a much better choice for VTA. The HPI wheels have an offset (3mm front; 6mm rear, I think) that would make the chassis way too wide to fit under any legal vintage body.

Also, the only reason to go wider is if you have plenty of excess traction, which, as you probably know, the vintage tires don't deliver. Also, a wider car is more unstable under acceleration, especially when off the racing line.

My advice -- buy some extra springs, shock oil and caster blocks with the $50.
