It all depends on what kind of dirt you will be running on. If it is packed clay, then you really don't have anything to worry about. But if it is dry, loose dirt, you might have some issues, but nothing compressed air won't fix.
Thanks -- the track is a damp clay mixture, but with a loose layer of dust/"fluff" on top much of the time. I race indoors on a 450' +/- lap length track, and except for practice, all heats are 5 min., with 6-min. mains. My motors tend to stay cool (for the reasons you mentioned), and the SP13.5R 'Ultrasportsman' I've been running was usually around 115F-125F after a run.
