To say you can't make a stock engine perform better is just crazy. Yes the top engine manufacturers spend thousands on R&D to put out a great engine, but think about it like this. They are still catering to the RC market which is fairly small. Compare that to the millions Honda spends on R&D yearly. It's common knowledge that Honda has more money than any other motorcycle manufacturer in the world. They have the top engineers, top builders, R&D, you name it. So how many stock Hondas do you think there are racing supercross right now? None
My point is, if there's room for improvement from and engine produced from the winningest company in the world, there's room for improvement in these little Nitro engines.
I think the common theme from the posts is that there is not as much improvement room as engines of old . There really are only so many things you can do with so many moving parts
