Some people have said they have used them indoors without problems so I thought was that it must have something to do with the difference in temperatures. All I know is once everyone stopped using them then we didn't have anymore motors go bad.
I believe some electronics components will have own reaction in some determined temperature condition, just depended the material of they are made, ex: ceramic.
