It's my favorite
I love p5's. Perfectly strong torque, excellent midrange, and the top end depends on gearing. With so much torque and midrange if the track is large then go up one tooth on the bell it will fly, but for most small to medium tracks it's fine. I ran it with the 086 nova pipe and the short round or bent header for years, best fuel mileage,,,, but i like the 9853 ss nova pipe on it with the short round header now. It lets you run it slightly on the rich side and it stays strong through the long main without getting lean at all. The best thing about this engine is that it shuts down from full speed quickly to navigate the technical sections. If tuned correctly it will make your buggy easy to drive by clearing the jumps easily and staying consistent without wheelspin. Just don't run it too lean or it will spin the tires and make you feel like your having to be too careful. It will go from mild to wild with the needles. and that good. Oh yeah it outlasts your car. I had an old one that wore the car,777, out before it ran into the river full speed and dissapeared at 11 gallons....Long story....Never even opened the rear cover. Just flushed it with denatured often, and oiled it....Marvel is a mystery.....I think I'm obsessed with novarossi engines....
