Alright brain trust. The duo 2 17.5 overheated last weekend and end up taking out the 2.0 LPF. Got new ones in hand with the LCD programer. Run down T2007, rubber tire, Duo 2 17.5 motor, GT 2.0 LPF, last race was down to 37/98 ( small as I could go with that spur) and taking timing out of motor and esc to control heat. Got a good start point for me ( ran outdoors on a big track with no problems pulling alot more gear than this)

I say stay away from motor timing. Although it is a cool idea, Brushless motors and brushed motors respond totally different with motor timing. Keep the timing on the motor Stock, what ever that is, and let the ESC do all the work. You will have less heating issues if you keep the motor stock timing.
