Some people tend to think that .06 is overkill for speed in a steering servo thats why they recomend the 7950..

I personally would run a 7940 in steering and only use the 7950 in a Truggy. 486oz of Torque in a buggy is overkill not .06 transit speed.

But of course its not going to hurt it and would work just fine either way.. Really just up to you.

You won't be disappointed with either one of those servos. I run the Hitec and the JR HV line and love them both and I personally have yet to have an issue with either line.
