Out of curiosity, did you try the diff build that Tony suggested???? Almost all of the really fast guys around here use some variation of his suggestion for their Minis. Incidentally, our local group has had the last three TCS Mini National Champions for the USA. Also in touring cars on certain surfaces, they will use a spool to replace the front diff.

If you will get off of your high horse and build the way Tony suggested, you will find that you will get a smooth, limited slip diff. My suggestion would be to try it, before saying it doesn't work.
