Once the 1/8 scale compaines got into building touring cars foam tires were inevitable. Now forget it, cars are so fast that a touring car in the right hands (namely Jaime Corrado) will pass 1/8 scale cars.

RC racing, in particular on road racing, is so sick that any idea that will help needs to be tried.
