We are talking stock GX motors straight out of the box here.
The 3 Port in a buggy is great, very smooth and easy to drive. Suits the smoother less aggressive driver, and is ideal for someone new to buggy racing.
The 5 Port is an animal. Too much for buggy in it's stock form IMO. Put one of these GX-5R's in a truggy and go have some fun - brilliant !!
The 7 Port is my favourite. It has enough bottom end for a truggy no problem.
On a big open track in a truggy it would be sweet. In the buggy is where this motor shines. If you are an experianced, or full on aggressive style driver then the 7 Port in the buggy is for you. Bottom end aplenty for a buggy, with mid and top end power that will blow you and the opposition clean away !!
I have one of our top drivers here using the GX-7R in his buggy. He has run JX Ninja and Nova +4 prior to the 7 Port, and reckons the GX-7R is the goods. He TQ'd at our last meeting with the motor only just run in.
Same guy runs the GX-5R in his truggy and is very impressed with the overall power of this motor.
So far I've personally run the GX-3R, the GX-5R and the MG-66. I'll be rotating these, along with the 7R in my losi buggy and truggy. Lots of fun times ahead!
