I absolutely hate the standoff design of the 8ight shocks. It's too complicated for what's needed. I've never had a normal shock mount (screw with a hollow pivot ball and nut to hold everything in place) break. The 8ight shock mounts have a shaft (standoff), a nut to hold the shaft to the shock mount (another part to lose, and the nuts can get rounded easily), a black plastic/rubber piece that acts the same as a pivot ball, and another nut to hold it all in place. And on the 8ight shock towers, the shaft can sometimes be extremely difficult to remove or install as they're threaded and the compliance between the hold in the tower and the diameter of the shaft isn't enough.
Anyways, if you don't have that black plastic piece, just use a pivot ball that has a center hole that will fit over the diameter of the shock standoff shaft. If needed, use a spacer before the nut to hold everything in.
Too complicated...Lol.....the losi is designed with a racer in mind.....we want to change the angle on the tower....a simple nut will do that...not having to remove the shocks nut then the stand off then move to the next hole then reassemble....losi 1 nut and your done.....How is that complicated ?
