My havok 3s worked great for a few months until last night. Now it just seems to randomly stop accepting input from the receiver. Steering still works. The drag brake keeps working -- you can move the car and hear it braking. You can drag the car and move the motor to see if it's a rotor position sensing issue and it doesn't help. The motor is cool, the speedo is cool, the lipo is charged, and no error conditions are reported from the esc -- everything looks normal. Turn it off, then turn it on, bam, fixed!

Last night it screwed me over in one qualifier and in the first lap of my main. Honestly, I'm done with novak. Completely done. This is just totally unacceptable. Nine out of ten people I've talked to who ran or run novak at my track had stupid issue like this from random cutting out to false motor thermal shutdown.

Before this, I was geared lower than their recommendations with my ballistic 8.5 and my motor would thermal left and right. When it thermalled, the temp with a gun would be around 160 at the endbell -- their acceptable max range is 160-175. Put in a mamba max pro, motored up to a ballistic 7.5, left the gearing the same, put in a castle mamba max pro, and I can run the piss out of it and it doesn't go north of 130F.

Novak brushless speedos = FAIL. If you have one, good luck. I used to run novaks back in the day and they were great -- I was such a novak fan boy it's not even funny.
