I did a RCGT for about 100 feet long straight indoor carpet for 4.5 final...that is a DUO 2 17.5 with 10 degree timing but with SP V1.1 with no software advance... if yours is the old version SP 17.5, I would definitely use 4.0 and start going UP (like gear the pinion UP). However, it is all depends on what speedo that you are using...if things like TEKIN with TURBO...I have seen 17.5 using 5.7 final drive due to the crazy ass turbo thingy....
