The Evo IV has an internal gear ratio of 2.294. That would make a 45T pinion the correct gear to stay under the 4.5 final drive but its just seems like a big pinion gear. I have never run touring car, been an off roader most of my time in RC. I will pick up a few different sized pinions with 45T being the largest and work my way up. That is, unless someone see some huge flaws in my thinking?
