Try using ABC Hobby Genetic slick tires, #24104. They are very grippy and lasts a long time. You can use the foam inserts included or experiment with HPI 24mm touring car inserts. They need to be cut down to size to fit well. I've tried the red inserts so far, and I'm quite happy with them. They are also reusable.
