The two factors you went right past is that Minis are front wheel driven and the effects of weight distribution. Where the weight is, plays a huge part in how a Mini is set up and drives.
That is very interesting, might have to get one just to play around with. It's amazing that there are so many different setups that all work with these Tamiyas.
