We did some pre-season testing late last summer, I tested a 1s / 13.5 pretty hard and heavy compared to the class standard 2s / 21.5. The 2s / 21.5 was a few tenths faster on a moderately flowing 40 X 65 track...neither car running a "super esc". That would be pretty much the same spread as running a 1s / 17.5 vs your proposed 2s / 25.5 which should see similar results. The 1s / 21.35 wouldn't even be in the hunt.
Thanks for the info.

cheaper batteries, lighter weight = less wear and tare, and the 1s setups fit awesome in the current chassis'. 1s seems like a no brainer for me.
thats what I am wondering as out here seems everything else is going 1S lipo, with the VTA, I have heard of some places doing 1S lipo and 17.5s . Novak also have a 1S ESC too I believe now right?
