I agree..never screw needles into their seats and whats so difficult about flush..if you can't see straight get some glasses and/or use the edge of a steel rule across the top to get the needle exactly flush then use one of these http://rchardware.com/ to mark the flush position as zero...then you can find flush again in a second...
