I'm also more of a "hands on" collector. Stuff new in the box isn't as interesting to me as something I can hold and feel and work the bits. I've taken a LOT of boxed collector cars out of the boxes and built them. They should be out of the box so you can really see what was going on during that period. A car you can put in someones hands is always more interesting than a "box".
