I normally file at a 45 degree angle. Don't get carried away......check often. Don't want the cells to drag on the carpet/asphalt if using a 4 cell.

If your lipo has a flat bottom I recommend NOT filing the battery slots. Use lexan pieces keyed to the slots to secure the lipo. The square edge in the CF will prevent the lexan strips on the battery from popping/sliding out.
