Depends if you have long or short low speed needle fitted, as they differ in tuning method a little.
If you have the long needle and you are getting lean bog and high temps, it's a sure bet you have leaned the HSN too much, and this is causing the lean bog.
Have a look down the throat of the carb when you have the slide at full throttle. If the needle has a thickish rounded end and is out of the spray bar completely, you have a short needle. If the needle is a long tapered one and the tip is still sitting in the spray bar at full throttle, you have a long needle.
