I can't say what is causing the problem with your friend's car, but it's not because of "slop", or excessive play inherent in the TT01's design.

Your friend should check:
- servo
- binding in the steering links
- binding in the kingpin screws

The TT01 is an inexpensive, beginners chassis. No doubt about that. IMO, though, it is also a solid design, durable and race worthy chassis...

I have built at least 6 TT01's and have been able to set them up to track straight.

In a spec class like the one we run where all the chassis are TT01, the hop-ups are limited and the motors are handouts, the TT01 is the perfect chassis for beginners and experienced racers that want to have fun, and race on an even playing field without spending a whole lot of money.
