It's completely not necessary for your apps but I REALLY like the 4pk from Futaba. Got to handle one from a local racer and it's just an awesome feeling radio in every way. The features it has are more then what the average person would ever dream of using and it's $450 price tag is pretty ridiculous. If you're already rockin an $800 buggy, $350+ kit (after electronics) why not get the top of the line radio too?
I agree the 4PK is currently the best surface radio out there. I myself am contemplating on getting one. It's got 4 channels, perfect for setting up my crawler with 4WS and dig. Only problem is, the local Futaba distributor here in Manila does not offer a warranty
I got to hold an M11X at the LHS and it felt really comfortable as well. Only thing I don't like is that the 4th channel can only be used for brake mixing. But it definitely looks like a good radio. Right now I'm still undecided which of the two to get. For the price of the 4PK I can get the M11X and an extra Rx. But I really want the 4th channel!
