Per the manual when you put the shock cap on the piston should be all the way at the top of the shock body. I push it up until the nut is just under the surface of the oil. Screw the cap on like one turn then angle the shock so that the bleed hole is up and slowly screw the shock into the cap. The bladder will push the shock piston down as you screw it together. No more cut or collapsed bladders.
When this was first pointed out to me I worried about rebound and all that other fun stuff but it works and thats the way Mugen wanted it.
It's interesting to look at the manuals for there other cars because there shocks are all set up different and Mugen is very specific about the position of the piston when the cap gets installed.
