In other words, I considered you couldn't stop the torsional loads with just one side brace and that you would end up with a one sided torque effect . . sort of.

Dont know about this. Sounds logical however.
When I tested the car with the left brace I did not like the ultra direct feel, and also found the rear grip went away a lot. Removed it and the car went nicely.
