I have a smaller Hobbywing that does this sometimes. Its usually when I run a fast motor, and it always seems to happen coming out of the same corner on my track. It acts like the LVC is kicking in, then a few seconds later I can continue racing. I know its not the LVC, because you have to reset the ESC once it stops, it will not go again until you turn it off then back on again.
I suspect it may be some kind of protection, but they only list LVC and Temp. protection. I am a temp freak so I know its not that, and I run high quality Lipos that I do not think are dipping into low voltage. This leads me to think it is hitting a current peak that shuts it down momentarily. Acceleration while exiting a corner definitely causes spikes in current, and mine only does it while using the fastst motors, in my heaviest car, and when exiting the same corner.
I also thought about maybe it was a failsafe mode, in case of loss of signal. But since it never happens with other systems or the same system in different setups, doesnt happen if I stand on that side of the track, and happens with other radios, I think I have that eliminated.
