And that's why I think lipo in the starter box isn't the brightest idea. It's too easy to generate a crazy load unintentionally. NICD is so much more robust -- the pack would have just heated up a little, not destroyed itself. By the time you realize what's going on, the motor is already stopped and the battery is already under crazy load. Just seems like asking for trouble to me.
