Plus, as somebody who is brand new like I am, I want to save the money for other things (for instance, I have not invested in a quality radio yet or lipos for that matter (still just running NiMH)).
Lipos are only "dangerous" because far too many people are lazy and don't take the care they should...
I've never yet seen a lipo do anything "dangerous" in person... I've been using them for about 3 years now...but I've seen 1 PS catch fire and another start shocking the user every time he went near it... I have also seen more than one set of NiMH explode...
Its all relative... having used a converted PS and a proper "built for the job" commercial power supply, I know which I would rather have
