I just bought some gloves for marshalling but I still aint sticking my fingers anywhere near a flywheel. Ive seen more than a couple times people destroy their fingers. I hate to say it but if you have a run away and your counting on me to shut your engine down your in bad shape. I'll hold it on the ground if I can catch it until someone comes and shuts the engine down but I am not risking injury...sorry.
ive gotten my finger chewed up once when i tried to stop a runaway by putting my finger on the flywheel (for some reason i was thinking the gloves wouldnt get torn through by the flywheel
) i knew better before hand, but in the heat of the moment i wasnt thinking properly
and besides, i never said anything about putting your gloved finger on the fllywheel for a run away. only if its idleing. reading is fun
also, if you have gloves on and you catch a runaway and just hold it there waiting for somebody else to stop it. youre retarded. stop being a pussy and turn the car off.
