Hi Josh,
When I used to run the 34t pulleys, I always used 116t spur and depending on the motor used (usually a 4.0t) and the track size, it never ranged out of 19-24 (FDR 10.38 - 8.22) using lipos.
I personally like the 38t pulleys better. (gives better on and off power feel - personal preference, nothing noticeably different in lap times for me though)
