And that may be an option depending on what is available at the race. But the conversation was more specifically discussing the Jaco orange tire. Also the CRC tires are significantly more expensive then Jaco. I do prefer the CRC rim but at 30% more expensive I usually end up buying Jaco.
I must be lucky. CRC's are only a $1 more a pair then Jaco at my LHS. I prefur crc rubber. Way smoother and more consistant.
