Something is wrong with setup. I have never seen another truggy that could turn under a 2.0T. Another big thing to consider is tire choice. Tires are the number one setup option period. If you have the wrong tires, nothing will make the truck turn.
As for hinge pins, I have never had a stock gold losi one bend.
