If it's a tune issue, then advising you how to fix it seems moot because you got rid of the engine. another thing is because not every engine tunes the same. and if it is the clutch, then i'm assuming you are using new clutch shoes, springs, bearings, and whatever else you would replace when you put your clutch on a new engine. if so then your problem could potentially be solved with a rebuilt clutch.
on top of that your having someone else break in your engine, which i also assume will be come back tuned close to racing conditions.

I didn't mean to come off as a dick. I'm pretty sure your problem will be gone when you get your engine back.
