I run the K-factory aluminum steering rack assembly. It's easier to maintain. It can be removed with just two screws. Also, it is generally considered to be lower maintenance since it is more of a "sealed" unit. I am running all bearings in mine, with no bushings. The standard setup I believe has one bushing and one bearing on each side. I went to the LHS and found bearins to replace the bushings so I have two bearing on both sides. It is extremely free and should remaing that way. The standard rack seems to require a lot of cleaning, especially on carpet. I have also has small pebbles get caught in the standard setup. I should quit trying offroad.
