this is why I keep telling people not to mess around with that stuff

if you'd have ever had a closer look you will find res1 to be 254 when sending data but then 142 when receiving data again as the value 254 does not exist on the speedo ...

but there's no real reason why to mess around with special settings for standard applications ...
