I've thought about putting together a mini anodizing station in my garage...but didn't want to deal with battery acid and other chemicals.
2 ways to strip anodizing.
1) warm up your metal parts in a toaster oven. and spray it with EZ-OFF oven cleaner. let it sit for awhile and brush off the ano. this may take several attempts to get everything off. With this method it may small pits in the metal.
2) probably the easiest way...go to your local anodizers and buy a gallan of Anodizing stripper. $10-20

Stripping the Anodizing will not degrade the metal... you're only removing the surface layer.
