The only reason the 5995 is rated to 7.4v is because the Robot guys like to use 2 cell Lipos to power them to get additional power and are not worried as much about durability.
Using a 2 cell Lipo over a 5 cell Nicad/NiMh can reduce the servos life by as much as 30% in all servos. However, the life of these new Ti geared servos seems to be very long as we have been running the 5955TG/5997TG with 2 cell Lipo in truggies and MT's with no failures to date.
For surface use I think this is okay, but discourage 7.4v for aircraft use.

Fast question if you have a 5995TG servo are you able to program for RC use since they are the same other then case / program??? if so will this cost a arm and leg???
