The thought behind it is that it eliminates some of the T-bone type accidents that occur when a car spins ahead of other racers in traffic. So far I've noticed no major difference between diff and one way on carpet with rubber tires. So, I'm trying the spool to help the car claw its way out of the corners.
I tend to find that incidents are more a result of bad driving than bad setup. That said accidents do happen.
My brother was doing some testing with flex and top decks and managed to shatter the lap record. Although this wasn't a losi it is getting me interested in gutting out my deck.
