I'd get the DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Pulse Charger.
1) It's 52.99 (on towerhobbies.com)
2) discharges and charges NiCd & NiMH (only Sub-C Cells)
3) Know a friend who has it and hasn't had trouble with it (says charger gets a little warm to hot sometimes [keep a fan near vents to cool off])
4) Can change amount of amps on type of battery:
(NiMH = 0.5A - 3.0A)
(NiCd = 3.1A - 6.5A)
5) Choice of Slow Charge, Peak Charge, & Discharge
6) Can charge 4 - 8 Cell NiMH/NiCd batteries
Sounds good, but just my opinion, go with whatever you want, just felt like putting my 2 cents in
