It is a preference thing for me on most tracks. 2mm split (60mm rears, 58mm fronts) usually wear evenly with say 40sh in the front and 42sh in the rear. Some tracks require a larger difference like 37sh front and 42sh rear. Not really for traction, but to keep the tire wear the same during longer races.
I mostly drive with off power steering (and a spool) so I expect my car to dive in when I let off to scrub speed instead of braking and then I roll on the power on exit (left over style from electric touring)
