I think a motor with 28mm outside diameter are max for the smaller cars.

well the ammo,, the permax and the NEU motors are all 28mm and can be used in almost any car....
its better to have too much power than not enough....
the vendetta sufered from this until tthe right motors were found...
eventhough I dont have the vehicle,, the research I did with the vendetta can be carried over to the traxxas...
once u increase the kv the less power/torque u will have... and for a motor thats 26.5mm or so there is no telling what u will get
this is why I have said the mongoose is not ideal for the vendetta.. smooth but no power
