So took the BMI out today to get some testing in.

We have a guy at the track who has a bit of a monster 1/12th that is running a 3 cell LiPo and a Castle Creations sensorless 380 size motor. the car RIPS... you can hear it spin the rears on take off from a corner almost every corner. Its quite brisk down the straights and weighs 40 - 60 gm less than my BMI.

With that said, fastest lap he ran on the current layout today was a 9.9 Sec lap. Fastest lap I ran today with the BMI-LiPo, 10.5T Vortex V.2, Novak GTB 4 cell, SMC 4000/25C pack wa sa 10.2 with most averaging 10.4 - 10.6. Getting near his time is a bit of an achievement, my goal is still faster.

I took an hour or so to get the car all aligned, ballanced, servo centered (within 1/4 of a mm - best I could with the tools I have), right height sorted, etc... The car ran with black front and yellow rear's.

I had a bit of push on throttle, but not bad, easily fast and not too nervous. I had a little issue of it wanting to traction roll around the big fast sweeper all through an 8 min run, I could defeat it by being very smooth on the throttle through that corner. I may stiffen the rear plates up just a bit.

THe car transitioned perfectly side to side, no drama. One of the easiest cars I have driven. I gave it to a guy who hasnt driven 1/12th in a few years and he is hooked now

The setup is:

BMI DB12RR-LiPo Chassis w/ SMC 1S 25C LiPo with custom leads.

Front:
Flat Servo in the forward position
Front kingpins lubed with some thicker bearing oil (seems to stay consistent longer than silicone)
.20 springs
5 Deg Caster block @ 4 deg position
-1 Camber
Neutral Toe (slight neg toe on compression)
Jaco Prism Black Foam @ 1.68"
4mm Ride height

Mid:
Gold Spring
Silvia Shock W/ 60 Weight oil
Darkside racing front shock mount at mid position (equal to about the med ball stud w/ 2mm shims position on the stock mount.)
4mm Ride Height
Standard RR Flex plates at the long position
Dampener tubes with 5000 weight diff lube in them

Rear:
4mm Ride Height
Jaco Yellow rears trued to 1.75"
Orion Vortex v.2 Race 10.5T BL
43 Pinion / 78 Spur

Total weight with a ProLine Standard weight 12b Body: 724gm.

Attached are some pics. (Note the body is just a testing body and a bit of a joke. I just needed to get the body painted so I busted out some highly visible Yellow and some stickers from my nitro days and put em on the car My real race body for the coming points series is going to be a pretty fancy paintjob by a guy at our track).
