I think you've answered your own question and saved yourself over $100 too.

The 3PK super with FASST is more than enough radio, slip in a 3S 2600 LiPo pack and you're good to go. (Tru RC pack around $40).

I have two 3PKs, an original and super, and use them with Spektrum modules. Horizon is clearing out the Spektrum Pro Module/Rx for Futaba at $100. You can get a brand new 3PKS without module/Rx for under $200. The biggest thing you won't get that the 4PK has is the 4th channel.
