Actually the shoes will go on wither way, you just hadnt considered it cause thats the way you were taught, just like me. But no reason why they wont go either way. Like they stated, with "leading edge" they bite real hard and fast. Better for drag race or super high traction tracks, otherwise you'll be spinning wheels badly. Possibly some of the "European style" flat tracks with carpet or concrete approaches to the jumps.
